I joined Northwestern Mutual while still a student at the University of Chicago in the spring of 1998.  It’s been the only company with which I’ve been affiliated my entire professional career, something I cherish greatly.  Attending college at U of C brought me to Chicago from the small town of New London, Wisconsin, where I was raised by my parents, the fourth oldest in a family of six children.

My family and I lived outside of town in a rural area, where my sisters, brother, and I spend a lot of time outdoors.  I inherited my entrepreneurial spirit from my Dad, who worked as a machinist, running his own business for over 35 years.  Around age 9, I started my first business, selling night crawlers to local fishermen for 50 cents per dozen.   I spent my teenage years working on our neighbor’s dairy farm and alongside my Dad in his machine shop, creating memories I’ll never forget.

In October 2000, I had the joy of marrying my high school sweetheart, Jaimie.  We have been blessed with two children, Grace and Adam, who keep us busy with all kinds of activities.  We are active in our church and school and enjoy time spent with family and friends.  In my spare time, I enjoy woodworking, biking, and, of course, cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
